Make a Difference, Become the New “Whirled Leader”
Flying Pie Pizzaria hosts “free pizza for life” contest in search of new “Whirled Leader”
Boise, ID (August 11, 2008) – Flying Pie Pizzaria (Flying Pie) officially launched its search for a new “Whirled Leader” with the expertise and financial backing to perpetuate the restaurant’s growth and expand it beyond Boise’s city limits.
In order to find a suitable Whirled Leader, a unique contest has been formed to kick off the search, with Flying Pie looking to its loyal customers. Customers that apply or nominate someone for this role will receive rewards depending on the results of the application and review process. The person who helps to find the ultimate Whirled Leader winner will receive a finder’s fee – pizza for life.
“Flying Pie takes a progressive and unique approach to business, which has led to an established loyal clientele,” said Howard Olivier, owner of Flying Pie Pizzaria. “We have had a great time building Flying Pie into what it has become today and because of our success we have decided the time is right to find an investor who can take Flying Pie to the next level.”
National business valuation thought leader Kevin R. Yeanoplos stated in the latest issue of BVWire, “Some business appraisers make the mistake of focusing almost exclusively on the quantitative aspects of a restaurant, looking just at the raw numbers. They forget to consider the very important qualitative aspects of the business. The ability or inability of management to change a company's future economic performance is arguably the most important qualitative factor that should be considered. These qualitative factors are at least as important if not more important in determining the value of a closely-held business.”
For thirty years the business technique of focusing on the restaurant’s environment and the customer experience has worked for Flying Pie, which has not only survived but prospered during the good and, more importantly, the difficult economic periods.Last year the pizzaria’s sales exceeded two million dollars, andFlying Pie has already experienced a six percent growth during the second quarter of 2008. Some of the unique aspects of the Flying Pie atmosphere that have driven both customer and employee loyalty since 1978 include:
- Asking customers to rate their service on a scale of hand-drawn smiley faces
- Allowing customers to have their “own” day to make a pizza
- Raising a 254-pound aluminum ball of foil named Flora
“Flying Pie customers are amazing people who know amazing people and are very interested in continuing the excellence Flying Pie represents to the community,” said Olivier. “Why wouldn’t I share this search with them?”
The contest is running from now through December, or until the new Whirled Leader is selected, whichever is sooner. For more information on how to become Flying Pie’s next Whirled Leader visit www.flyingpie.com or call (208) 376-3455.
